On 24 March, a seminar entitled What skills are needed for an efficient and innovative public administration, sponsored by AREL, was held.
The initiative was part of the broader debate on the transformation of social dynamics and the relationship between institutions and citizens, brought about by a technological acceleration that is forcing the public administration to undertake a profound revision of its operating models.
The seminar was introduced by Carla Bassu (University of Sassari) and moderated by Marianna Madia (Chamber of Deputies). The debate got to the heart of the matter with Cosimo Pacciani’s (Poste Italiane) speech and concluded with Francesco Clementi’s (Sapienza University of Rome) analysis. From the discussion, the need to invest in human capital and new professional skills emerged strongly, considered decisive levers to respond to the complexity of citizens’ needs and to strengthen the bond of trust between the public sector and the community.
