The Policy Talk ‘Contributing to the European Agenda 2026’ took place on Monday 19 January at the AREL headquarters in Rome. After Enrico Letta’s opening speech, a lively and participatory discussion developed among the participants, who enriched the discussion with operational insights and priorities.
The meeting, promoted by the Single Market Lab, was conceived as a confidential discussion space to proactively contribute to the definition of a European agenda capable of bringing together economic and industrial policies, security and international projection.
At the heart of the debate were the challenges that the EU will have to face in 2026: from the Single Market Roadmap (to be completed by 2028) to building a credible strategy in an unstable geopolitical context, to relaunching a growth model geared towards innovation and widespread prosperity, also in view of the forthcoming institutional appointments, starting with the extraordinary European Council on competitiveness on 12 February.
