A seminar entitled Constitutional Reforms: Handle with Care was held on 16 April. The initiative was part of the debate on the main constitutional reforms currently at the centre of the Italian political agenda, with a focus on the delicate balance between government stability and democratic representation. In particular, the contents of the premierate proposal, the possible changes to the electoral law and the prospects for reforming bicameralism and the Senate were explored.
The seminar opened with an introduction by Enrico Letta (AREL) and was moderated by Carla Bassu (University of Sassari). The presentation was given by Francesco Palermo (University of Verona), followed by Marco Fonte (University of Verona). The conclusions were entrusted to Marco Meloni (Senate of the Republic).
