On January 21, 2026, the European Commission presented the Digital Networks Act, a proposal for legislative reform of the EU telecommunications framework aimed at strengthening the integration of the sector into the European single market framework.

The aim of the Regulation is to overcome the current regulatory fragmentation, ensuring greater harmonization and legal certainty at European level. Furthermore, overall, the proposal aims to create more favorable conditions for infrastructure investment and the development of next-generation networks.

The Single Market Lab will follow the approval process of the Digital Networks Act, contributing to the debate with dedicated analyses and specific insights.
